My Rant:: "Occupy"

Maybe I should get out that old Army uniform (fitting might be a problem) and get that shotgun plus some shells.  Then go and occupy that U.S. Congress.  These egotistic career politicians from both parties just do not get a darn about this country or it's people.

I would hold these premises till we can get some real fresh blood into these positions.  Maybe everyday people with some common sense.

Care to join me???????

Whatever happened to that government by the people for the people?
It seems to have vanished........

We now have a Cashrarocy, instead of a Democracy in this country.
The best government that the moneyed can buy!!

How to Increase Oxygen in Blood

How to Increase Oxygen in Blood:

We all know that we need adequate amount of oxygen in the body in order to live a healthy life. The oxygen that we inhale from the air is then mixed with the blood which carries it to each and every cell and tissue in the body. However, if there are low levels of oxygen in the blood, then it can lead to many health issues. Did you know that lack of oxygen in the body is one of the leading causes of persistent fatigue in humans, and can lead to conditions like depression and mental fogginess! You would be surprised to know that more than 15 million people in the United States alone visit a healthcare specialist every year with complaints of low oxygen saturation levels. The normal blood oxygen saturation level in the human body is between 95% to 100%. However, if the level is less than 90%, then the levels are considered to be pretty low. For this, one must be aware of the possible ways of how to increase oxygen in blood so that there is adequate supply of oxygen in the entire body. It is necessary as the brain itself consumes about 12% of the total oxygen consumed by the body. What can be done about the same is explained as under.

Different Ways to Increase Oxygen in Blood

In case the oxygen levels are too low, the condition is known as Hypoxia. As mentioned earlier, if the level is as low as 90%, it is known as hypoxia, although many a times the levels go as low as 80% resulting into severe hypoxia which can actually be life threatening. There can be various reasons for low oxygen levels in the blood which include breathing in high altitudes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (which is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States of America), sleep apnea, pneumonia and so on. The medical treatment depends upon the causes of low oxygen levels in the blood. But there are ways of increasing oxygen in the blood through some lifestyle changes. These are discussed as follows.

Breathe Fresh Air
I know, I know... how can you breathe 'fresh air' with so much of pollution around? Well, I agree to it, but then one must take the necessary precautions to keep the quality of air as good as possible. Avoid accompanying friends for smoke even if you have quit smoking yourself. Try to wear a mask when passing through extremely polluted areas. Make sure your space at home and/or office is well ventilated. Keeping plants around your living area is also a good option as they produce oxygen and consume carbon dioxide. Bottom line is to make sure you don't expose your nostrils to a 'more polluted' environment.

Exercise Regularly
Exercising regularly is not only good for shedding those extra pounds and increasing stamina, but it also contributes towards increasing the levels of oxygen in the blood. Of course by exercising I don't mean you run 4 to 5 laps daily! Even a normal brisk walking daily for about 30-45 minutes, can help increase oxygen levels in the blood. This is so because exercise makes the brain and body demand more oxygen, as a result of which the body increases the blood flow in the body supplying more oxygen to the cells. Even breathing exercises early in the morning can prove to be of help by opening the abdomen and lungs to inhale enough oxygen. Practicing Yoga in this case would be a good idea. Therefore, following a healthy and active lifestyle is a good and natural way to deal with hypoxia.

Improve Your Posture
The only natural way to increase the oxygen levels in the body is through breathing adequate amounts of oxygen. You can breathe better through improving your posture while breathing. An example for the same would be to avoid crouching! Always sit and stand straight with your shoulders at the back to be able to take the maximum amount of oxygen rich air into your body. Check if you are stooping right now while reading this article... if you are, then stop it from this point itself!

Lose Weight
This is applicable to people who are overweight or obese. Mostly, people who have weight issues are more prone to suffer from low levels of oxygen in the blood. However, if you take the necessary precautions and exercise daily, you can easily come under the normal weight range and thereby increase the levels of oxygen in the body.

Eat Foods that Increase Oxygen in the Body
Yes, there are ways to increase oxygen in the blood by eating certain foods. First of all you need to cut down on all the fatty and junk foods that you have been consuming. Experts believe that a diet which involves fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and other forms of complex carbohydrates helps in better circulation of blood in the body thereby transporting oxygen enriched cells in each and every part. There are also various supplements available for the same purpose. However, you must always check with your healthcare specialist before consuming these supplements.

Though all the aforementioned ways of increasing oxygenation in the blood are useful, it is very important to get regular medical checkups done. Even if you are taking the aforementioned measures, you must confirm with your doctor before implementing them. As mentioned earlier, there are different reasons that can cause low oxygen levels in your blood and only a thorough check up can determine the proper treatment in your individual case. So don't delay taking the doctor's appointment. After all, consulting early is better than repenting later. Have a safe tomorrow.

Freedom...

A woman awoke during the night to find that her husband Bill was not in bed. She put on her robe and went downstairs.

Bill was sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in front of him. He appeared to be in deep thought, just staring at the wall. She saw Bill wipe a tear from his eye and take a sip of his coffee.

"What's the matter dear? Why are you down here at this time of night?" she asked.

"Do you remember twenty years ago when we were dating, and you were only 16?" Bill asked.

"Yes, I do," she replied.

"Do you remember when your father caught us in the back seat of my car making love?"

"Yes, I remember."

"Do you remember when he shoved that shotgun in my face and said, 'Either you marry my daughter, or spend twenty years in jail'"

"Yes, I do," she said.

Bill wiped another tear from his cheek and said, "You know... I would have gotten out today."

Anna Hazare and his fight for the Jan Lokpal Bill

Please forward as much as you can............

1. Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War

2. What's so special about him?

He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra
3. So what?
This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.

In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.

4. Ok,...?
This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.

5. Really, what is he fighting for?
He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.
6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bil, The Jan Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.

8. It's an entirely new thing right..?

In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).

7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?

The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.

8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?

A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?

Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.
Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.

10. Ok, got it. What can I do?

At least we can spread the message. How?
Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.
At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.
At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.
At least we can pray for his good health.
I am sending this out to all my contacts. My humble request to all is to do the same and spread the word.

Cleaning Poem

Cleaning Poem I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my butt,
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up....
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my good work.
I didn't mean to 'click.' But click, I did, and oops - I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it -
I was into it all night.

So nothing's changed except my mouse.
It's as shiny as the sun.
I guess my house will stay a mess.....

While I sit here on my bum..

The meaning of dreams...

After she woke up, a woman told her husband,

"I just had a dream that you gave me the most beautiful diamond necklace. What do you think it means?"

"You'll know tonight." he said with a smile.

The woman could hardly think of anything else all day and she couldn't wait for her husband to return home.

That evening, the man finally came home with a small package and gave it to his wife.

Delighted, she opened it excitedly to find a book entitled...

"The Meaning of Dreams"

ALWAYS

Always...

God will be with you today.
As you open your eyes to a new day,
he'll light up the sky with sunshine
to remind you how much
he loves you.
He'll be your strength through every hour.
He'll bring you many warm smiles
and unexpected pleasures throughout the day.
His love will keep you warm
and shelter you from all harm.

God will be with you tonight.
As you close your weary eyes in sleep,
he'll light up the sky with stars
to remind you that he's
always there for you.
He'll watch over you as you sleep,
touching your soul with a peace
that could only come from heaven,
and filling your dreams with a spark of hope
that will remain with you when you awake.

God will be with you tomorrow.
He'll be with you always.
And every day, he'll remind you,
in many different ways,
that he's your eternal light

How to score the Test

First, add the no. of A, B and C responses and use the following table to arrive at your final result.

For Males:

No. of A's    x 10 points =

No. of B's    x 5 points =

No. of C's    x -5 points=

For Females

No. of A's    x 15 points=

No. of B's    x  5  points=

No. of C's    x -5  points=

             Total Points =

( For any questions where the answers didn't accurately reflect your life or you left them blank, award yourself 5 points.

Most males will score between 0-180 point and most females, 150-300. Brains that are wired for mainly masculine thinking usually score below 150. The closer to '0'they are, the more masculine they are, and higher their testosterone level is likely to be. These people demonstrate strong logical, analytical and verbal skills and tend to be disciplined and well organized. The closer to '0' they score, the better they are at projecting costs and planning outcomes for statistical data, with their emotions hardly influencing them at all. Scores in –us range are high masculine scores.

Brains that are wired for mainly feminine thinking will score higher then 180. the higher the no., the more feminine the brain will be, and the more likely the person is to demonstrate significant creative, artistic and musical talents. They will make more of their decisions on intuition or gut feeling, and are good at recognizing problems using minimal data. They are also good at solving problems using creativity and insight.

Scores:

300 and above --------- High- Feminine brain

0-300 ---------------------Overlap ( masculine-feminine)

-us score (-10, -20.)---High masculine brain

Problems With Facebook’s SSL Secure Browsing?

If you’re like us, you’ve been getting this pesky message while browsing Facebook: “Switch to regular connection (http)? Sorry! We can’t display this content while you’re viewing Facebook over a secure connection (https). Would you like to temporarily switch to a regular connection (http) to use this app? You will have a secure connection upon your next login.”

If you’ve seen that message, you probably also discovered that clicking “continue” or “cancel” gets you nowhere and doesn’t fix the problem. You probably also noticed that you lost the ability to view third-party applications.

That message is basically saying that you cannot view Facebook applications using a secure connection (https) and that you have to switch to an unsecure connection (http) to view them — not great news given how the social network added an option in January to run all sessions with https in order to protect people from prying on open networks.

Many Facebook developers noticed that there were serious weaknesses in the implementation. One explanation theorized by Rants, Raves, and Rhetoric v4:

…the reason why apps.facebook.com is not protected is because the https protocol does not allow for two parties on to provide items in some elements on the same page even if both are secure. This is because one party cannot ensure another is not doing something illegitimate.

After searching for a solution by copying and pasting the error message into Google, we found no answer to our dilemma, only articles discussing the message and speculating about why it was occurring. However, when we searched the Facebook developer’s blog, we found the solution! Disclaimer: Keep in mind this solution will make your Facebook account less secure and it seems it does not resolve the problem for certain games.

Go to account settings in the upper-right-hand corner of your Facebook screen. Within the account security section, click the “change” link, then uncheck ”secure browsing (https): Browse Facebook on a secure connection (https) whenever possible. Then click “save.”

Clicking “save” turns off the https, which means your connection is going to be less secure. So, you have three options:

  1. don’t use any apps and be more secure;
  2. use apps and be less secure, or
  3. switch back and forth.

Because of the work we do offering custom Facebook pages and working with applications — including iframes and networked blogs, we chose option two. And, so far so good!

So what do you think, readers? Would you risk the reduced security just to be free of the error messages and remain able to use third-party applications on Facebook?
